The Christian Center School began in 1985 with the purpose of providing a Montessori education in a Christian atmosphere. Montessori education emphasizes the potential of the young child. Its method is one of individual activity.

Christian Center School offers “quality education in a Christian environment”.  Christian teachers guide each child according to his/her individual needs, assisting each one toward optimum growth in all areas of development.

Dr. Maria Montessori felt that the goal of education should be to cultivate the child’s own natural desire to learn, rather than to fill his mind with facts.

A Montessori school is not a play school.  A Montessori classroom is an intensely busy place, and because it is so intensely busy, it is so obviously happy. In it a child is allowed to experience the excitement of learning.

All equipment in the classroom allows the child to reinforce his casual observations by inviting him to use his senses for learning. 

A Montessori course of study is a unique cycle of learning designed to take advantage of the child’s sensitive years when he can absorb knowledge from an enriched environment.

A child who develops his basic motor skills, and also learns reading, writing, and arithmetic in this natural way has the advantage of beginning his education without drudgery, boredom, and discouragement.

Subjects and habits taught in a Montessori environment will benefit the child during his lifetime.

Such subjects would be the habit to organize one’s work, to concentrate, to finish every task, to put things back where they belong, to respect the rights of others and his environment, and to choose progressively more difficult and challenging projects.
